Unbelievable!!!

Well, today has been a screwy day. My kids, Casey and Alina were in a Veteran's Day Play that I had to miss. They will have it again tonight, but Alina won't be in it. There are too many kids for the younger ones to be there again. There wouldn't be room for all of the spectators. Camille went, and video taped most of it for me. Most of her family was there. That is a plus.

Speaking of her family, she also found out that her parents dog got attacked pretty bad. They found him laying in the yard this morning. He was alive, but when her dad tried to move him, Pepper (the dog) started biting him on the arm. From what I heard, his arm is pretty swollen. I'd say they should get that checked out.

The strangest thing that occurred was when she told me about one of my High School teachers. Mr. Steve Steelman was my American History teacher. He was a great teacher. Since then he has moved up to become the Principal of Fayetteville Intermediate School. I heard he was in charge of the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Apparently, he was working a little late yesterday (Monday). It was still daylight, and there were still people at the school. It seems that 2 masked men came in and beat him up pretty bad. I have heard that they used a bat, but the news report just stated that they used an object. If that wasn't bad enough, he ended up having to have surgery on his TONGUE! From what I was told the men tried to cut his tongue off. What kind of person would do such a thing?!?!?!? The news reports I read sounded a little contradictory when it come to where he was found. One of them said he was found in his office, while the other says he was found by the Librarian in the foyer of "his school". Maybe they meant to say "his office".

He is expected to recover, but it is just the thought that troubles me. He was able to describe the men to the police. I don't know the details, as the reports didn't say much. The comments that were reported were that he was a good man, and didn't seem to have a problem with anyone. They kept mentioning him not having a problem with any parents. I guess that is the first thing to be considered. I hope everything turns out well.

On to Happier Subjects. Lucas is doing wonderful. He now weighs 9 pounds 10 ounces. I will try to post a picture of him soon. I went to see him a few days ago. He seems to be doing great. The mother and father are not on the best of terms though. I hate to see that. At their age, they barely know what they want, much less know what it takes to please one another. And that's not even considering the baby. Once you add the baby, it just multiplies things by at least 100. I hope they work things out. Some times people don't see their responsibility until it is too late. All we can do is give advice when it is asked for. Not that we know them all ourselves. Only time will tell. Wish them luck. Have a great day.
